What would you like to hear about?
I've been writing on this blog for a wee while now and was wondering what I should report. I promised cultural observations but haven't really made any. This is primarily because I've spent most of my time in the desert, and there isn't a lot of culture there. I've been hanging around with Tom, Dennis and Mark who described themselves as "the most normal Americans that I could meet". I think that this would terify most Americans to hear. What I believe that they mean is that they represent an island of sanity in a country gone mad. So I've been living in a little bubble inside America. I haven't seen gun toting rednecks and have only been exposed to the slightest hint of "God Bless America". As I leave the desert and start to travel with Anni then I'm sure we'll see more and comment about these things.

Thank you for your kind words, Tony. I would like to clarify my comment of "We are the most normal Americans you will meet." That was followed, after a brief pause by riotous laughter by all in the car.
I do look forward to your future comments on our culture and the people you meet. It is always good to see what others see in you (broadest sense of the word). If one is afraid to look in the mirror, one cannot change and hopefully make improvments.
